Company History

Crown Pipeline Ltd. was founded in 1991 by Gilles Gauthier, who still owns and operates the company today. Gilles’ vision was to develop a family-oriented company that would be a leader in underground utility installation in Manitoba. In its early years, Crown was mainly a gas utility contractor. Over time, it grew in size and expertise to provide a wide range of services from gas installation to fiber optic telecommunications. Crown was a pioneer in offering services such as hydro excavation and directional bore cable installation.

From a single gas company, it has grown into a large and diverse business that designs, plans, and builds complex private fiber networks for local and international telecommunications projects.
